Friday, April 30 – Kollaboration DC auditions @ University of Maryland College Park
We had a lot of talented performers come through this day. Had a variety of acoustic guitars, singers, pianists, dancers, spoken word and group performances. I'm not allowed to say how I judged certain people or what scores I gave out but what I can say is that the bar has been raised. We will have at least ONE more auditions in VA sometime in June (details forthcoming at a later time), so all you nova heads, bring it (“oh, it’s already been brougthen” – anyone?)
Again if you want more information, find Kollaboration on facebook and twitter or just go to their website at www.kollaborationdc.org.
Saturday, May 1 – FKBC Carwash / Floyd Money Mayweather vs Sugar Shane Mosley fight
Had our first FKBC (my church located in Franconia) mission’s meeting. We are assembling a team to send to Ecuador (or ecquador – like equator, right PD haha) on July 10-17 to help in furthering education to 200+ kids over there among many other things. We are raising funds right now to relieve some of the financial burden that comes along with going to a missions trip. We had our first carwash as well that day and raised $500+. It’s a good start but we know we can achieve so much more through God’s grace. I’ll be posting up more information of ways to help out, but above all else, please lift us in your prayers.
After the carwash and some unfortunate tan lines, went over to cristians house to watch the Money Mayweather vs Sugar Shane’s fight with his family and friends. I love spanish people haha. By the way, someone teach me spanish man, I aint trying to do no rosetta stone. It was a pretty entertaining fight for the first half then the 2nd half, Money just dominated. Hopefully this is another step that gets us closer to the potential fight of this century – Pacman vs Money Mayweather. Mosley won the first 2 rounds and landed couple strong hits but after that Mayweather went on the attack. Boy is so quick and does not get tired. Best part of the fight was in one of the middle rounds where they was both talking back and forth at the start of the round and mayweather sticks mosley in the face while he was talking…haha good stuff
Sunday, May 2 – Find REST in the Lord. Sunday Service at FKBC
FINALLY came to Sunday service on time (thanks for the little push to be on time). As soon as service started, just got this weird feeling that came over me and felt the presence of the enemy in the room or in me. Pastor David spoke on Luke 15 and the prodigal son, but didn’t preach the same story that everyone has heard a million times already. He focused on the older brother and his selfishness that he showed when his younger brother or as he put to his father, “YOUR son” returned back home. I thank PD for being real and rebuking us with love and care. A good friend of mine once said, OFFEND WITH THE TRUTH. With this strong, heart-felt sermon along with this feeling like somethings trying to literally weigh me down, I had to pray continuously. I know we take a LOT of things for granted in life and I think most of us do recognize and acknowledge that fact, but how often do we thank God to be able to TALK/PRAY/SHARE/WORSHIP with/to Him at anytime we want FREELY. This sermon challenged me and hit home with me when he says as Christians, we tend to be like the older brother a lot of times. Many times we are jealous or bitter at the fact that another brother or sister is being praised or loved. Or when we see a brother or sister in need, or struggling or in pain, we should all rejoice as ONE. For me, I had to learn the hardest way possible to love while that opportunity to love is still there. So I challenge anyone that is reading this, believer of Christ or not.
Love to love. Do not wait for the “right moment” because all moments are perfectly tailored to show love to one another. Love to love. Regardless of what you might get in return, whether its appreciation, hate or apathy. Love to love.
Here's some videos to start off the day. Dont know why I picked these, but oh well. Enjoy:
